After an incredible summer Ecotopia is shifting from having ecotourists living on the farm to welcoming course participants and groups to the Knowledge Centre. The eco-tourists have come from, in addition to Sweden, Germany, Holland, Austria and Denmark. They had a lot in common, with matters of sustainability in focus and their ’sustainable’ involvement in construction, medical care, school, etc., which led to many wonderfully deep conversations and discussions this summer. All summer we had a guided tour and, not to forget, the summer courses on permaculture (photo taken by Sidsel Valum) and watercolour painting in the future workshop and retreat.
This autumn we have two premieres, namely Sunday brunch – Future Café with Ulrich Nitsch, in October, and Christmas dinner, with vegetarian, vegan and rawfood salty & sweet in December. Also new this autumn are the organic hair care and chocolate school with Herwig Maurer from Chokladbiten in Ystad.
The hay is in the barn and harvest is surpassing everything to date for vegetables, berries and seeds. The floor in the living room of the old house has been painted with egg tempera, water and electricity have been connected in the straw bale house, and now the kitchen is being prepared when it rains and the roofing when the weather is dry. The neighbours who are moving have offered us their sheep and cats, so perhaps there will also be a housewarming for them this fall 🙂
